"Uneasy Homecoming" is a suspenseful story full of brave, audacious characters. Connie had came home from a trip with a disturbed feeling. Her husband would not be home till around midnight, so she decides to drag time out and slowly put her bags away. The uneasy feeling was getting stronger so she calls an old friend, Mrs.Winston. While on the phone Mrs.Winston shares some frightening news, making Connie more timid. There were several break and enters and also killings in the neighborhood while Connie was away. Connie refuses to go and spend the night with Mrs.Winston, even though she is terribly frightened. Connie knows someone is in her home, a stranger who is not welcome. She locks the doors, but doing so she sees a man, a recognizable man. She becomes terrified and starts to make a plan to escape from the house without the strangers knowing. She manages to get out of the house and sets a motorcycle on fire, causing an explosion. The sirens begin to ring, louder and louder. When they arrive, Connie knows she is safe. Mrs.Winston was standing there waiting to see if Connie was alright. Connie begins to cry, for she could have been killed. The stranger who who she recognized turned out to me Mrs.Winston's son. Connie cries even more, hugging Mrs.Winston. Even though Connie is safe and feels bad for herself, she feels even worse for Mrs.Winston. Mrs.Winston now had to deal with the thought of her own son being a criminal, harming someone she truly cares about.
